Mark Shepard here with another 30 second tip to help you make the most of your networking investment of time, energy, and courage!
I went to a wonderful Holistic Networking event yesterday. It was very different from the typical Chamber of Commerce event with its financial planners, insurance agents, attorneys, real estate agents, mortgage brokers and bankers.
There were chiropractors, accupuncturists, energy healers, physical therapists, massage therapists and nutritional counselers etc.
There was 1 financial planner and one mechant account rep. There was 1 life coach…1 ‘courage coach’ ;o)….
So here’s a thought. If you are a holistic practitioner, get your self to a chamber of commerce meeting where you will stand out! Lots of business professionals are stressed out and need your help!
If you are a financial planner, insruance agent etc.. Get to a holistic networking event. Those folks need help with their money!
The point is, there is value with networking with your peers in a context where you ‘belong.’ It’s a great way to build a support and referral network. But you also need to spend some of your networking time exploring groups where you ‘don’t quite fit in.’
Another word for ‘not fitting in’ is ‘STANDING OUT!’ :o)
In NLP we call that a ‘reframe.’ To learn more about NLP and my NLP practitioner training course visit:
When I discover a new networking ‘pond’ I’ll let you know and maybe we can swim a bit together and deepen the connection.

and focus on what went right!
